We need resources that normalise depression and anxiety by presenting actual people to talk openly about their issues.

Each webisode of Are You Nuts? profiles a Canadian stand-up comedian opening up about their histories with depression, bi-polarity or anxiety, and how they cope. By inviting audiences to laugh–and think–about mental illness with our subjects we aim to dig deeper into topics, questions and ideas that aren’t often associated with the public personas of people who make us laugh.
Each webisode blends interview and performance footage to tell each stand-up comic’s history of mental illness and comedy, while animation visually takes viewers inside a comedian’s mind to illustrate a manifestation of episodes of anxiety and/or depression.
We’ve partnered with Yuk Yuk’s, Canada’s premier stand-up comedy chain and with their support we’ve already received interest from over 20 Cnadadian comedians including; Big Daddy Tazz, Jeremy Hotz, Alice Rose, Chris Adoranti and Amethyst Barronis.
Seeking Comedians - Apply NowAre You Nuts? is currently in the Development phase.
We’ve partnered with Yuk Yuk’s, recruited over 20 comedians and brought on leading mental health practitioners to advise through the production process. We’re currently producing the first 15 minute mini-doc on a comedian.
